The Arizona Vegetable IPM Team is part of the Arizona Pest Management Center and serves as a steering committee to guide the development and implementation of IPM programs for vegetable crops in Arizona. Our team leader in Yuma, AZ, is Dr.John Palumbo from the Department of Entomology. Dr Michael Matheron Extension Plant Pathologist and Barry Tickes Director of Extension for La Paz County with a Weed Science Research Program in Yuma AZ. We are located in Yuma, Arizona, one of the most productive areas of the world for leafy vegetables, brassicas, and melon crops.
The publication of the Arizona Vegetable IPM Updates Newsletter started in January of 2010 with 175 subscribers and in 2018 we have about 900. Our goal is to provide people in the industry with the IPM tools specifically to the low desert croping systems vis publications, meetings, and field visits
